Free Anti-Virus Software Available

Defense Department Web sites offer free anti-virus software
intended for use on members' home computers. The software
is licensed for both military and civilian DoD employees.
Members must be at a .mil workstation to access any
DoD-related sites offering free anti-virus software. They
can either download via file transfer protocol or go to
the INFOSEC FAQ page for slower downloads, then choose
the software. Anti-virus software from McAfee is
available, in addition to Symantec and TrendMicro, plus
regular signature updates to keep PC workstations current.
Mac users can download McAfee Virex software and
signatures for OS X, as well as earlier Mac operating
systems. The sites also offer VirusScan for UNIX and
DOS users. To obtain software, go to the SPAWAR Web
site at www.infosec.navy.mil, and click on "Anti-Virus
Information," or visit www.navcirt.navy.mil, or the
DoD site at www.cert.mil/antivirus/av_info.htm. The
other branches of service have anti-virus software at similar sites.

Glad they finally got it up and running. It still needs work but it's a new
portal.

Am waiting for the verification Emails.

You will not that the 404thk00ks are going to have a field day on this one.
No wonder I joined the AF instead of being drafted into the Army.

Hey, cool! Maybe you'll be able to *finally* explain this claim of yours:

From <eJPp8.145724$***@rwcrnsc52.ops.asp.att.net>

[begin cut and paste from Daryl "Deadmeat" Hunt's post]
Post by DeadMeat
what a bunch of bollocks, I dare you to prove that crap. The 101st didn't
participate in the Grenada operation, it was the 82nd you moron! Besides, the
82nd was flown in, not air-dropped, as the rangers had already taken the
airport. How dare you post anything about Franco's regime when you don't even
know the basics of your recent military history!!! Get the fuck out, you have
lost all credibility here.
Funny,. we landed the 82nd on the land and dropped the 101st from the air.
I really don't need to check it out considering I was on the Aircraft
Involved.

[end cut and paste from Daryl "Deadmeat" Hunt's post]

Atila was very correct. This was the beginning of the end for all
credibility for Daryl Hunt aka Deadmeat in us.military.army.

You are incredible, you know that. No wonder the Army National Guard made
it uncomfortable for you be be in and the Air National Guard denied you
entry. While I understand that the Air National Guard has some standards,
it usually requires not much more than a heartbeat and at least room
temperature to get into the Army National Guard.

Watched a doc. about the 82d the other day and was struck by a statement that
only 2 planes carrying troops could land due to limited parking space and that
several had to orbit for a long time.

I guess they couldn't drop them on the airfield but then they probably
didn't load up for an air drop when they left their base in NC.

BTW, thanks for the email report, I don't expect you terminally stupid
to understand that I am not AF and have no real itrest in such portals

learned to trust on this NG, it appears you are not quite up to speed on

Thanks for assisting the US Army, but you got the wrong guy. My pocket
orders were revoked some 6 or 7 years ago, or maybe more. At my age you
tend to forget unimportant things such as the date, and just hang onto
the fact that I am no longer needed to protect your sorry ass when the
balloon goes up as they say. BTW, at a time when, unless you were
Regular Army, you were out at 20 years, I was invited to remain on
active duty beyond 20 years. Something the Army did every year for a
select few nearing 17 or 18 years. Does that sound like they are glad I
am gone? Ahh, never mind, you would not understand that anyway.

So it don't mean an damned thing in here as almost everyone should be able
to. Neither one of us are elible for recall these days so your points don't
mean a damned thing. You ain't the oldest and I ain't the youngest. Again,
doesn't mean a damned thing. We both did a job and pulled the plug. Had I
wanted to continue, I had options as well. I chose to put in the paperwork
and not return. It's my right with that many years in. More than 2 decades

I could too, but that would be a lie. So really, what was your point?
I have no quarrel with who you are, only with the fact you seem to think

My points mean as much as yours do. Your problem is, you forget what

I would hope that to be so on my part.

I do not recall having a quarell with that nor even mentioning anything
against that. It was you who chose to mouth off regarding the Army
being glad I am out. A fact you obviously know nothing about nor ever
will. So why put that sort of crap out there, unless you feed on BS and
such BS thrown back in your face.

Look feller, it is not a pretty sight to see you here appologizing for
leaving the Military. I assume you left on good terms and so be it. I
left earlyer than I had hoped, but got caught in a situation and to
retire was the only way out. At times I wished I had stayed, but have
never regreted leaving.

But you seem to think so.

It is only you here denegrating others service, not me.

Senior Hunt, it has been my experience that guys like you will feel
anyway they please. Most can not really hack reality, so retreat to
their FEELings where their mind can rule. So you have fun in your mind
but remember, you have to wake up sometime and then it is back to that
world of reality where you are what you are. Sorry, you will never
stack up in the light of day.

Make that mid. 90s, and for Enlisted Retired. The Portal system is now where
you would be notified first so hip pocket orders are no longer needed. If by
chance they can't get a hold of you that way they will through Retired
Records or DFAS Records.

Nice cut and paste job. That is from the FAQ of the Portal in 2002. It's in
the link I posted before. The fact that Air Force Retired have been using
the Portal system for more than two years proves your lying once again. The
Air Force Portal system first went on line in 2000. It was updated starting
in 2002 where you got your information from. It is being updated again now
to 3. All you have to do is like I said Go to the help desk, and they will
sign you up if your listed as being Air Force or Retired Air Force. If not
they will send you a form 41 to fill out, and you will be checked. Wiggle as
much as you want your a fake as always.

Translation: NO QMPs ALLOWED.

Of course, it says nothing about how long the portal has been there, but
confirms that it does exist while you were claiming it didn't.

Nice try at spin but you still lose, reseller.

When dealing with propaganda terminology one sometimes always speaks in
variable absolutes. This is not to be mistaken for an unbiased slant.

and verify that Retired AF Members are not currently allowed to use the
Portal. It's planned but no ETA as of yet.
Now that's funny, since I just was able to get an account....
It suggests you might not be retired USAF..
More of the terminally stupid 404thk00ks. Respond to the following Email
There is nothing in the site to prevent you from getting an account right
now however.
I will note the email you site is a cut and past from the web site itself
and is also not addressed to you.

Sorry, but the don't allow QMPed morons accounts to that site. It is
restricted to real military, retirees, etc. QMPs like Duhryl need not
apply.

Sure is nice of you 404thk00ks to turn even this into a stupid trolling and
flaming match. Makes me feel extremely superior.
But then beating a rat to the cheese would make you feel superior. You
just don't get how extreamly un-informed (read stupid) you really are.
Your only claim to fame is the ability to recognise that everyone here
IS your superior and to continue finding the on button on your puter. I
have met a lot of stupid people in my day, but it now gives me pleasure
to know they could attain a lower level of stupidity. You have shown me
that possiblity. My aquaintences thank you as they now realize they are
not at the bottom yet.

Or... you can avoid the hassel of downloading it on a .mil computer and
bringing it home on the sneaker net by going directly to McAfee and
installing on your home computer.

You don't have to use a .mil machine. If you have an AKO account, you can
directly download it.
