US military faces 'unprecedented' recruitment challenges

Not as many Americans are able to fight for their country, and not as many
are willing to fight for it, either. U.S. military and defense officials
are sounding the alarm that every branch is struggling to meet its fiscal
year 2022 recruiting goals - with a record low percentage of eligibility
and an even lower percentage of willingness to consider enlistment ..
Roughly 76% of U.S. adults ages 17 to 24 years are either too obese to
serve or have other medical issues or criminal histories that would deem
them ineligible without a waiver .. Now the percentage of Americans still
willing to serve their country is only 9% ..

In wartime they'll take anyone who can breathe,
once recruiters can't meet their enlistment quotas...
